ASSAULT CHALLENGE

A HIGH-INTENSITY CHALLENGE REQUIRING SPEED, METHOD, AND TACTICAL DISCIPLINE

The Assault Challenge is a team shooting competition. It includes four assault members and one sniper. They move through obstacles, shoot targets, and wear safety gear like gas masks. The goal is to work as a team, stay accurate, communicate well, and follow a mission plan while racing against the clock.

Team Structure

A five-person unit, including four assault team members and one sniper. All members work together to breach obstacles, engage targets, and complete the course under strict safety rules.

4 Assault Members + 1 Sniper

Assault members breach doors and engage targets at AFP #1 and AFP #2. The Sniper provides overwatch and engages targets at SPF#1 and SPF#2 while carrying dummies.

15 rounds of frangible ammunition, evenly distributed in 3 magazines with 5 rounds each.

Optically Sighted Precision Rifle

8 rounds of ammunition.

10 rounds of frangible ammunition, 1 magazine.

12 rounds of frangible ammunition, in 3 magazines with 4 rounds each..

1 round of 40mm inert Gas gun.

Challenge Flow

This section provides a detailed overview of the entire Assault Challenge, explaining team buildup, sequence of events in the challenge, equipment stages, obstacle layout, shooting points, and penalty zones, telling how the course is organized from start to finish.

BEGINNING

The entire team gathers at the starting area called the Loading and Unloading zone for a safety check. They must don eye and ear protection, and body armor. When they hear the command 'Go,' the team gets out of the van and starts going through the obstacle course. All team members and their gear, including the Ram that they must pick from the van, must go over every obstacle. The only time gear can go under is during low-crawl sections.

Handle Gear Safely

  • Never throw or mishandle weapons, ram, & dummies.
  • Make Rifle, SMG, & shotgun safe/holstered before moving.
  • Do not touch triggers or Pistol grips while holstered.
  • Stay behind shields & follow the marked path closely.
Sniper-Specific

  • Rifle stays in box until SFP #1, with no loose attachments
  • Barrel must align in guide before firing the sniper.
  • Eye protection required for all handgun shots.

  • Holster handguns until in AFP #2 shooting box.
  • Load Shotgun, SMG, & Rifle only when stationary, cover up
